9 Things that SUCK About Network Marketing
Alright mamas, so today’s blog may be named 9 things that SUCK about network marketing, but I’m going to let you in on a little secret: these are the things I really LOVE about network marketing.
These 9 things are what many who don’t fully understand how this industry works feel suck the most. So let’s get on with it!
Number one: It’s not a “get rich quick” thing.
Almost nothing really is, so networking marketing is one of those things that don’t make the “get rich quick” cut. It takes time to learn the skills and get into the mindset needed to be successful and earn those six or seven figures. Some folks think that really sucks.
Number two: It’s too inexpensive to start a business.
This one makes me laugh. Are you truly aiming to just invest thousands upon thousands of dollars on a new business? There are so many businesses out there that don’t make it past the first year, so why not invest $1,000, $500, or even $200 towards a business that you can build into a limitless source of income? There is almost no other industry that is that feasible to start and succeed in.
So why does it suck?
Well, it’s because people tend to not take it seriously. If you invested millions of dollars to open a business, wouldn’t you show up every single day? You would. But with how “inexpensive” this startup is, some people just simply don’t take it as seriously, so the odds of success are much lower when you aren’t giving it your all.
Number three: Most people do not succeed in networking marketing.
This one stings a little bit, but it’s just the honest truth. Not everyone succeeds at any profession. Think about athletes. Not everyone can turn that into a profession. Or for something more relatable, not everyone gets to be the top real estate agent in their area. Not everyone gets to own and build an empire for themselves. So network marketing is a relatable and achievable industry where not everyone gets to kill at it.
Number four: For you to succeed, you have to help others succeed.
This one sucks for those who are just out for themselves or aren’t team players. This is simply not the industry for that. My success is a direct correlation to how much I can help my team succeed. The more people I can help succeed, the more successful I can become.

Number five: You must invest in personal development.
Most jobs and careers out there give their employees a set of expectations and that’s it. You are not expected to go above and beyond. You don’t have to push yourself, grow, and evolve. In this industry, your business can only grow to the extent that you grow yourself. If you don’t like working on yourself and push through the things holding you back, this isn’t the place for you.
Number six: Network marketing is NOT a pyramid scheme.
Why does this suck? Because pyramid schemes are completely illegal and based on very little monetary investment. There are no goods or services being exchanged, so you are guaranteed a certain amount of money back. Network marketing is a legitimate business model that has been around for years helping families throughout the world get to the financial place they want to be. It’s hard work, but it’s an attainable success.
Number seven: You must be willing to get uncomfortable.
Listen, I’m an introvert and let me tell you, this business gets me out of my comfort zone. And it’s great. I can build online by hopping on Facebook to do a Live and such. You don’t have to be one of those people who can just go to PTA meetings and start chatting up the moms and dads. So, push yourself here! You’ll find how to put yourself out there in a way that is scary but also exciting and rewarding.
Number eight: You’ve got to be coachable.
If you’re one of those people who think they know it all and refuse to take advice from others, this might not be the best place for you. You need to see what others have done and take some notes on it. If your upline is telling you to do Facebook live and you’re not, I don’t know what to tell you. You need to take some advice from people who are succeeding and give it a try. It might the thing to push your business into a direction you’ve been dreaming of. So be coachable.
And lastly, number nine: You can’t be a negative Nancy.
This industry is full of positivity and people who want to lift you up and watch you succeed. You’ll be surrounded by motivation and inspiration. So, if you’re someone who doesn’t like people supporting you, cheering you on, and being happy, then this industry is going to suck for you.
This is what I do full-time now, but there was no way I could ever have achieved six figures teaching Pilates and what I was doing before. With this business, it’s been possible for me.
So if you want to create a legacy for your family, if you want to create financial freedom, then you’ve got to be committed. You’ve got to work. You’ve got to stay in for the long haul. If you push yourself every single day, where could you be in 10 years?
